What’s Your Story?

It was probably one of the most difficult times in my life…dark, scary…very unknown.  Despite the anguish I was going through, I sensed a calming.  In the midst of this treacherous storm I knew I would make it and be stronger because of it.  This season in my life birthed something beautiful: My Story.

I think most of us can relate to moments like this.  These moments allow us to see ourselves bare and true.  It gives way to a passionate story.  A story we will begin to share as people enter our lives who need to hear it.  Before you know it, an audience has grown.  Why? Because you were brave enough to sing your song.

My friends, I believe this is what life is all about.  What song were you put on this earth to sing?  Not sure?  Keep reading…

  1. It Ignites You.  As I shared above, many times our darkest moments give birth to a story…one that fuels unspeakable passion.  There is life and energy when you allow that song to be sung.  The reason that truth is so powerful is because you personally walked it and came through.  My friend, Amy Ford, founded Embrace Grace.  A exploding ministry that embraces young ladies facing an unplanned pregnancy.  She personally walked this road and has a passionate story of hope and grace to share.
  1. It Defines You.  I don’t care what you do for a living…that doesn’t define your story.  I don’t believe Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A was in the business of selling nuggets.  His story was about giving.  He gave Sundays to his employees and free sandwiches to just about everyone in America!  There’s no doubt Cathy sang his song loud and clear.
  1. It Challenges You.  The challenging side to our story is knowing there are lives that need to hear it!  The fact is, you actually have people ready and hungry for what you have to say.  When you begin to speak, they will show up!  Its not always easy to share but I urge you to be brave, vulnerable and honest.

At the end of the day, can we say that we inspired, brought hope or offered the opportunity of freedom?  Every single one of us has a unique voice.  Our message is one worth sharing!
